M105A2 dually modification

Anybody seen this before? I like it, wonder how hard it would be to do this?

just use the rear studs and nuts from a deuce. Same rim and tire.

I was looking at that one today when I was out there picking up a "normal" 105a2. whichever unit that did it did a good job extending the fenders.

The TM says NOT to do that. But all they did other than the fender is used the hardware for duals.

I have a PS Magazine about that, telling you that it is not for increase of load but can be used for a larger "footprint" in some terrain. Wayne

I have seen them dualed out with a 250 gallon fuel pod in the bed.

As stated, just for floatation on soft ground.

I often thought about putting a extra rockwell axle on the M105, and fabricate a driveshaft to run that axle off the rear axle of the 5 ton. Just thinking???

My opinion - if you want the same size trailer with a heavier load capacity, put a M105 trailer body on a M200 genset trailer. You will have up to 2-1/2 tons of capacity.

Ditto of the footprint of the trailer, adding wheels won't make the suspension or frame any stronger.
