M66 Ring Mount Leg Length for M35A3

I picked up an M66 ring mount at the Georgia Rally two years ago and just now got around to installing it on my M35A3. I sandblasted the three legs and primed and painted them. Then I discovered I had a problem. I should have measured the legs before I started, but they looked like they were a proper length. The right front leg is too long. This is not a problem that the sawzall won't handle. Unfortunately, the two rear legs are too short. I need to know the proper length of the three legs. The TM says 61 - 63 inches is correct for the right front leg, but doesn't mention the two rear legs. I need to know the length of all three legs measured from the bottom of the horizontal arms. I'll pick up some schedule 80 pipe and weld extensions on the two short legs once I know the proper length.

I don't know if there is a difference between A2 and A3 setups (I thought all the M44/M39/M809 ringmounts were the same) but clintogf has a truck with all 3 legs and I can measure them tomorrow if you don't find out before then.

57 inches, but I have the cast iron arms, the ones that slide over the tops and clamp on, not the welded steel ones.

The rear legs on my M66 are 55.25" and the front leg is 63".

Those measurements are to the top mounting surface where the ring sits.

I have now sorted out the leg length, but discovered a new problem. The cutouts on the cab reinforcement plate do not line up with the threaded ends of the U-bolts so I cannot get a socket on them. The plate was installed by AM General during the rebuild. I also noticed in the manual (Marine Corps Instruction) that you are supposed to replace the right side windshield nut with a flat version because it can't be operated with the offset nut. My truck has no such clearance problems, so I left the original nut in place.

I agree. A butt weld would likely crack from being weak.

Can anyone tell me the diameter of the round leg that is supposed to fit into the bracket by the exhaust pipe? I'm planning on making a light bar that will mount into it, but when measuring that bracket, I cant tell if it should fit a 2" OD tube or 2-1/8" or even 2-1/4" diameter tube. Thanks for any help!
