Right now I'm more concerned about trying to get the container on the truck and get the box "usable" for me since I have to drive 200miles every day for school. If I can get this done by next semester I would be really happy, though I doubt that will happen. I'll be taking a plethora of pictures I'm sure so I'll have plenty to share here and videos on my YouTube channel as well.
That is one major commute, so it's 100 miles each way then (there and back), right?

Yup, knocks about 4hrs total out of my day that could be used for studying which is all I’m really concerned about right now (besides the fuel cost)
Books-on-Tape for anything related to the subject matter, and those 4 hours aren't wasted.

Just an idea. I'm a fan of books-on-tape.

Well, I replaced the turbo cartridge hoping that might fix the engine issue, bad memory doesn’t help, but it didn’t do any good. I’m just glad 98G pulled through and delivered me the 8 395s and the engine rebuild kit, and of course talked me into a new seat and some ammo cans lol. At least it wont be money that slows or stalls this project now, it’ll just be a lack of time lol.

Powder coated the inside of one of my rims. I would’ve done all of the powder before mounting the tires if I’d had the time, but I need to get the truck useable again so that means getting all the new tires on first and then worryin about the fresh powder later. I do more updates on my YouTube and Facebook accounts more than I do here, so it might be worth it to subscribe.

Finally got all the ‘new’ tires mounted, with the exception of the spare, and I hope that the motor is fixed. I guess I’ll find out with time though. There is an intermittent miss so I’m hoping that it’s just air in the fuel system from replacing all of the injectors. Tried mounting the replacement blower motor and impeller for the cab heater core but it seems that the blower motor will need to be trimmed for me to get it in place without involving everything else around it. Also need to fix the coolant pipe for the radiator since the mounting tab for it broke its welds. I’ll probably powder it matte black while I have it off as well. Ordered and received all of my 8T air/hydraulic jacks as well so I’ll probably order the 4” channel next month and start on the jack design for the ISO container.

Finally got the valve cover ready to powder coat the new color.

The turbo is with Dormant Red and clear, I wasn’t happy with the color so I cut it with 50% gloss red.

First test piece with the 50% cut and compared to the turbo. This color makes me much happier. The turbo turned very “orangey”, but cut with the red makes all the difference. Definitely pretty close to the ISX red that I was after.

Since I’m finally happy with the color I started on the valve cover. Took me a full day just trying to get the valve cover ready to coat. That old paint is a real PITA to get off! I even used my orbital with 40g to cut through what I could before taking it to the sandblaster cabinet(which it barely fit into lol). I will try to remember to get some pictures tomorrow in the daylight since the dark pics don’t show the color that well.

Got two corner assemblies finished today with the help of 98G who brought his arc welder. Welded up and now ready to be welded to the I-beam. For that part though I’ll be welding them together on top of the shipping container so I know for a fact that it will fit when I’m finished. Last thing I need is to be certain it’ll fit, cause that’s what a drawing said it should be. Welded most places with one pass of 6010 and then 1-2 passes of 7018.

Be ready for sticker shock lol those things cost me $800 just for 4 of them!
Including the corners I was quoted at about $180 each (lock and corner set)
Find me a good picture of exactly what you need, I might know where some are...
I'm looking for ones that can be tightened down, such as these. https://www.tandemloc.com/806000t-100 or https://www.tandemloc.com/t12000e Doesn't matter to me if it's a retractable lock setup, but being able to tighten them down is important.

It’s been a while since I posted anything in here, sorry about that. I’ve been super focused on my engine rebuild. If you haven’t been following it then check it out (link here), it’s been a real PITA. I have the C channel coped to fit the I beam and ready to be welded, all I have to do is cut some logs to size and level all the metal out in preparation for when John come back with his welder. I may try to get some steel to start on a few thing on the inside of the container, but that really depends on if I can get the steel to fit in the car. I would love to get the 4” C channel for the jacks, but there’s no way I can get that to fit in the car.

Anyways, not much else to say been focused on this engine rebuild since I want to put the truck in the towns parade on July 13th. Here’s some pics of the damage.
