There has to be a model number. If he didn't know that then he is talking crap. Or he was an idiot that thought any turbo would work. Cause um it has to be a reverse rotation turbo or it won't work on thr 855. Like a T46. T50. HT3B HT4B. 4LHR733
Based on the picture it’s not reverse rotation. But looks like he got it hooked up. At this point an appropriately sized standard rotation turbo would probably be easier to swap. Maybe some BW s400 variant similar to ht3b specs?? Hard to say what the most cost effective option is....

I may just go back to stock. I did find a rebuilt T46 for 324.00 bucks on Ebay. I did notice that there isn't a Watergate or blowoff valve. Does this engine require one?

No diesels don’t need blow off valves. Wastegates are more application specific, but basically no you’ll never need one.

I may just go back to stock. I did find a rebuilt T46 for 324.00 bucks on Ebay. I did notice that there isn't a Watergate or blowoff valve. Does this engine require one?
No. Ive got an ht3b in the box. Did a 500mi test run with it for $500 shipped. Holset factory rebuilt unit. I put it on in place of a 4LHR. I just found an ht4b a week later and went to that instead

Nice, I'm getting all the stock parts for the intake and exhaust on friday. I think I'll just put her back to stock for now and save some money so and find the A2 intercooler setup and a turbo. Dont really wanna cut a hole in the hood. Should I still monitor the exhaust gas temps when I put it back to stock?

Yes.

The a2s have an aftercooler. Not an intercooler.
Several of us have modified the RG31 MRAP aluminum radiator, oil cooler, and intercooler setup into the m939 trucks. Best parts for a solution and the price.

Good to know!! Hey have you seen the 450/80r20 tires? I found new old stock with 100percent tread for 50bucks each. Any idea why they are so cheap?

Most likely Sand trails, only rated at 35psi, you wont want to run them on your truck on the road.

Yea, I saw that they are only 4ply tires to. Dont have the capacity for a 5ton
If you are interested in 395s we have plenty. I'll be making a few more runs to Barstow over the next few weeks so they can ride cheap. No wheels though. @M35A2-AZ had some 5 ton combat wheels in the classifieds

Now I was told by my injection pump man that had his own shop and worked on the Cummins in the military stock 250 rail pressure not to go over 200 psi. It will do nothing for performance and just put more stress on valve train / cam shaft. Yes on bringing rail up to 200 max and do not go silly on the button. Rolling coal is just a waist of fuel and the right choice will help with out over doing it.

For what it’s worth, I saw absolutely 0 difference with the dual fuel line deal, neither subjectively nor objectively. To be honest I don’t even see the logic behind it without more injector flow. But everyone speaks highly of it so I did it.

That would make sense as performance starts with the injectors. If you talk with Pittsburgh power they will also tell you the same thing duel fuel is for big HP engines to keep the fuel flow moving and fill the injector cups. The stock 250 injectors have small fuel inlet orifice and small cup metering orifice.
Then if adding a turbo one would think to be correct we would need a PT that has an AFC control. My thoughts if you want more power buy a truck with big power to start with or right truck from the start.

the afc on teh fuel pump is only an emmission device its not required for forced induction to work. im curretly working on some komatsu dozers with nhc 220 engines in them with turbos there is no afc.

Yep and the op lives in California the they take the emissions seriously.
