OK I am not trying to open the debate whether there is or is not a such thing as an A0, I think most understand the what is meant by that designation.
I am curious when the A1 came about, both my 1992 and 1993 M998s do not have an A1 on the data plates but for some reason I just took for granted, maybe incorrectly that they were A1s, I do not remember seeing a data plate with the A1 designation although that CERTAINLY does not mean they do not exist.
This is a carry over from another (AMG parts) thread that was getting a little off track

The A1 designation didn't start until 1994, so your trucks wouldn't be labeled as such.

Hard to believe it was 8 years in service before its first major upgrade, both of mine have caliper mounted parking brakes (part of the service brakes)
I wonder if both were upgraded without the MWOs or if they came that way from the factory, the only MWO was on the 93 and it was for a pintle mount upgrade for a heavier trailer

I don't know about the a0 a1 a2 designations, but I am certain that when I go to register mine, I will do my best to get it done as an HMSUV lol

Just because you have all the MWO’s applied and no MWO dats plates means nothing....MWO’s were applied at all levels, Unit, OMS, Depot...etc

If so how do they keep from repeating WMOs? my 93 has a splash of yellow paint on the steering arms on all four of the gear hubs Between the four retaining bolts, I am assuming this means someone serviced the locking tabs under them.

Packing brake MWO came out in 1991. I got to assume Uncle Sam modified the contract then to have units being produced with the "upgraded" parking brake.
