Everyone back off a notch. Put the light sabers up. You're all right, to some extent. Its more or less a matter of how much work it would be. The idea is sound. But is it worth the time and effort? You moderators need to decide. But you don't need to go to fist city about the whole thing.

If you need someone smart on gen sets, like I said I will help. I have been involved with army power generation since 1972. I am no rocket scientist on forums. More like Forum Challenged. But my heart is pure! Everyone needs to give it a bit more thought. Take some time. Its been fixed or broken, however you see it, for a while. A few more days ain't gonna make a difference.

If I have over stepped my bounds, please tell me so.

Thinking it through, there's less to move if it's other auxiliary equipment that goes into a subforum. I mean this with no disrespect, but to dive into moving all this stuff, we'd need someone versed in moderation/forums.

Exactly

I thought I had mentioned earlier that it would be easier to move the non-generator threads into another location.
Then just label the current location Generators or??? once the unrelated threads are moved.

Right now it's a total PITA to find info in there that's not genset related.

I'm confused then. You say there's much more genset info than aux. But then say there's more aux info than genset?

A quick look shows right away that the forum, as it looks right now, is totally dominated by genset threads.

So statistically, searches should result with far more gensets results? What is the gain for this?

If you mean taking Power Generation out of Aux Equipment, to create a forum like The DEUCE, GAMA GOAT, CUCV, or M880, yes, it's an excellent idea.

Moderators WHAT the heck is this popping into my 'replies' with quote? The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters.

The same thing happens with my replies. I would like to know why too. Am I doing something wrong. Also quite often the space bar doesn't work so all my words run together.

Don't worry, Guy will be around to diagnose your space bar too ;)

Why is the space bar the only key with no identification?

When the message " The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters.
Shows up, I found that a part of the original message, or quote, is still below the text I have written. The program "thinks your writing is part of the original text. So now I move down to below anything written in the original post, before I start to type.

When the text starts to run together, stop. Put a period at the end of your sentence. Move the cursor back behind the period. Then hit space. Now you can write all you want, without a ten million letter word, as long as the period stays ahead of your typing.

Any of this make sense? I cant explain why it happens, just that it does. And this is not the place to deal with this problem.

A ha. Got it. I went back and tried it on another post. As long as you type/write INSIDE the two Quotes, you get the message about it being too short. Write anything before, or after the quotes, and the message will not appear.
