Welcome to the November 2020 MV of the Month Nomination Thread!

To submit a nomination the rules are :

1. - You may nominate your own vehicle or another SS Members vehicle (please get the member's permission first). Do not nominate vehicles not owned by an SS Member.

2. - ONE good photo must be submitted with your nomination. PLEASE POST ONLY ONE PICTURE AND NOT A LINK!!!

3. - Previous winning vehicles from the current year cannot be re-nominated.

4. - One vehicle nomination per member per month unless you nominate another member's vehicle...not your own. You can ONLY nominate ONE of your own. (It's to keep things fair).

5. - We ask for 10 vehicles per month for the contest. Once we get 10 vehicles nominated OR at 20:00hrs (8PM) on 15 November 2020, (whichever comes first), the nomination thread will close and the "Vote Thread" will open as soon as The Boss can open it. All times listed are Eastern Standard Times.

6. - Please do not "campaign" for your favorite MV on THIS thread...wait for the "Vote Thread" then have at it!!

Now come on folks, let's see those beautiful MV's you have so we can all enjoy them.

Never payed attention to it before but is it a coincidence that the camo pattern is aligned just right on the bed to the cover, or was it on purpose as in you or the government wanted that way when painted. I’ve never looked in the tm’s for the pattern on how it is supposed to be laid out , just curious. Anywho great looking truck.

Well, it might be the Army patter, can not remember. Been to long. Helped do our Battery's vechiles back in the early 80's? We had a Tm that gave the pattern for every vechile and major peice of equipment. So artistic folks chalked it on all our gear, and we started painting. The guys who did the spray work were given much freedom to "follow" the lines. So you often had like vehicles, and somewhat different patterns. This is a fine example of paint work. Short story. We once got new 800 seris 5 tons. No cammo paint job. So we did the 15 or so trucks, and went about our way. several weeks later, our CO got a call from the Battalion CO to "Please come to Schweinfurt NOW, to see me." Kinda hard to turn that one down. So the CO drove the 60-65 klicks to Schweinfurt. The BN. Co asked our CO to look at one of our trucks. Did he see anything wrong. "No, no sir, nothing" Then the big Boss pointed out that in letters 3 feet tall, on the tarp and bed of the truck, someone had spelled FTA. We should all be able to guess what that meant. Up close, you could not see it. You had to be 20-30 meters away. Then it was THERE. Sad face for the platoon that owned the truck.
