wow kinda crazy that would just let loose all of a sudden like that. wonder how hard it is to find the gears and other parts? do plan on repairing it or just scrapping the thing?

The pictures of the damage reminde me of photos of the Cummins 6BT Killer Dowel Pin failure. I wonder if the part that caused the damage got so chewed up you could not find it.

I don't think so there was only a couple of small chips inside the front case and no metal mud, it broke and shut right down. I have 6 more of these engines on various generators so I guess this will be a parts donor. From what I would assume the oil pump may have failed/seized so who know what else is wrong. I know I have bent pushrods to start.
