I was running my Mep 003 during a power outage when it suddenly quit. The fuel pump was still running/pumping,but the engine just stopped.
I turned the start switch and it fired right back up and continued to run until I shut it off after the power outage (4 hours).
Yesterday we had another power outage,so I fired up the generator. It ran about 2 hours and quit again. Fuel pump still working. I’m thinking now that it must be plugged/restricted fuel filters, lines, or tank pickup.
However when I tried to restart as I had before it will not stay running. It starts and will stay running only if the starter is engaged. As soon as you release the start switch to the run position,it quits. Engage the start switch again and it fires right up and will stay running as long as the starter is engaged.
So it appears to be an electrical problem. Any ideas where or what it might be?
