I am making the truck at 150% of the designer's scale. The tires on the real truck are 15 feet tall. My tires on the model are 4-1/8" tall.
.
It definitely looks large to me...
I have watched several YouTube specials about moving "Big Dirt". Those vehicles really are monsters!

Wow!
The mahogany? sure brightened up a LOT when you clear coated it!
Actually it is PADAUK. It is orange wood. It is an exotic imported hardwood. $11 per board foot at my supplier. Amazing wood grain and color! I am really glad I chose to use it on the model. It really pops in combination with the white oak accents.

Yes Sir!

Orange wood.
Never heard of it, but then again too - I am not a real "timber" kind of guy.
It is definitely pretty wood... Wonder how it grows?
I did a quick search and it seems that guitars are made out of it.
Osage Orange is a really durable wood. Not sure if that is the same or not.
