Thats great. The only thing I've done so far is drive it on and off the trailer and move it around a bit. Just got the brakes working well enough to get it up to speed but still leary of the tires.

Well,we made a quick day trip up to Winchester KY to popacom's place and snagged some more goodies for the Goat and M151A1.

Bill is a great guy to deal with and I'll defineitly be going back to see him again.

With the exception of tires and paint, the Goat is mainly finished!

I forgot to add in the above post,I installed all the above parts from Popacom in the next couple days after the post,

To anyone changing a front coil spring on a Goat, you DO NOT have to separate the upper or lower A arms from the steering knuckle.

It just requires you remove the shock from the lower control arm, remove the weight off the suspention(lift the side in question off the ground) and remove the spring from the spring pocket.

I had the job done in 15 minutes.

The troop seats are pretty straight forward,as well as the pintile hitch.

It drives and handles much better, now that both sides on the front sit level with one another.

Good information, I have a new windshield on the way from him, I don't think there is anything he doesn't know about these.

I have most of a hardtop for mine, but may just go with the soft top I have as it's hard enough now gettin in and out!
That's why I like mine topless. If I wind up doing the Convoy where we'll be driving out in the sun for a week I might try and add a soft top but I think the hard top would just be too much effort to make it fun to drive.

UPDATE!!

Since I made the trip to Texas and purchased the remaining lot of Gama Goat tires/rims from Mark,

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?142900-Morganton-NC-to-Spring-Branch-TX-and-back

The M561 now has 7 EXCELLENT tires(Thanks again Mark!),I installed the best 6 out of the lot this evening and left the best one on the Goat for the spare.

All I gotta do now is check a few fluid levels and grease every zerk fitting again and it's ready for GA in a couple weeks!

Sorry,no pics,it was too dark out after I got finished.maybe tomorrow!

Lookin good. Should be easy to match the hunter green if you want to rattle can the whole rigg. Turn it into 3 color and it would match your forest surroundings better than 383.

Would you be interested in taking some up close pix of where you wind screen meets the hard top? My top has an air gap around the wind screen.

Now we just need to put all the goat herder's AOs into the Google compututor and find the point that makes everybody's trip the shortest and plan a good old goat gathering. That is, as soon as a few more goats are made mobile.

I think that would make a pretty neat parade.

I think the Topeka convention this year would have been about as close as we could have gotten. Of course my trailer was full of AMGeneral's tires at that point so I couldn't have brought the Goat.
