Hello all, just brought home a new to me 2005 M1114 and starting the journey down the rabbits hole....have downloaded and read front to back the manuals...looking forward to getting my truck up and running and on the road.

Couple of questions that perhaps someone might help with.

1. The oil pressure unit (6620009935546) in the manual shows a line going into it...but not where it supposed to connect on the other end?
2. I have an alternator that came with the truck but part number does not match the one in the manual....will it work with my truck?....part number is 2920015571592...appears to have different wires then diagram?
3. also trying to decipher the power steering lines...they are all disconnected and somewhat have them figured but not sure which port on steering box they go as manual seems vague in diagram.
4. Can the batteries be successfully relocated under hood as I see its different than standard setup?
5.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

There is no oil pressure "line" there is however a wire, it goes to the oil pressure sending unit held up by a bracket with a SS hose going into the rear left side of the intake manifold.
And yes you can relocate the batteries, that would be a discussion best brought up in the mods/hotrod forum.

Thanks for the answer, I will try to locate this today.

Ok...new alternator ordered....now trying to figure out the power steering box lines...currently no lines going to it....

Does or can anyone share a complete diagram illustrating the full connections of the hydro boost, reservoir, hydraulic clutch, pump etc....cant find a complete diagram...also there is an extra part in my setup that doesnt show anywhere in any diagram...not sure what its for or why its installed....see attached.

Here is the schematic with a winch, just delete the winch and go directly from the hydro-boost to the steering box.
There is a schematic tor the A2 and the ECV etc.

Ok...I have a winch involved aswell...will check this layout....much appreciated...

Note.. this schematic shows the older pump...mine is the newer pump...will that change the flow as shown or?

Both schematics have the "new" pump and remote reservoir shown.
Edit, I just noticed there are three schematics, I never get that far

Now...on to the next puzzle...working on cleaning up the battery box area...have a couple of questions..

1. The wiring etc. that is mounted to the bracing behind seat....how much of it is necessary to keep if I'm not keeping the A/C system or the De-icer etc...can it all be removed without issue or??..having hard time finding this schematic in the manual.

2. I have a post in the battery box that also doesn't show up in the schematic...it has no wire attached inside the battery box, however it has a wire on the back of the post which travels up to the alternator area...but has a black cover not a red cover...curio I believe this is the positive cable for the alternator as the truck doesn't have any other 0awg wires going up to the alternator area.....so not sure...see attached pics for reference.

If your truck had a 400A alt. then you will have two positive cables, one inside the engine harness and one completely independent of the engine harness, you have the 12V breaker and 12V relay for the trans in that wire mix behind the seat, you will need to keep that.

Thank you for the reply...I will be using the dual voltage 200amp alternator (when it gets here) do you happen to have a schematic you can share that shows the wiring for these relays and breakers?...the one I have does not show any of them...

Question?....if the truck did have the 400 amp alternator...would that explain the extra post in the box?....(truck didn't come with the correct alternator it had an OskKosh alternator in a box..)

EDITED to seem like I am coherent

I have never had my hands on one but the extra post would make sense, there should be a large cable coming out of the engine harness for the 200A, the extra one if it has one can be abandoned (properly)
Here is the trans supplement it has the wire numbers etc for the 4 speed.
See if you can find a large cable coming out of the harness near the alt, it may not be as big as the one you already see, maybe a 1-0 or so

When did we switch from a M1114 to a M1097R1??? I am not sure if any R1s had the 400A

Thanks @Mogman ....I will check these out....still an M1114...this is just what I'm discovering with this truck.....there is no other large cables (1/0awg) coming out of the engine harness...that's the perplexing part...the only large cable coming to engine bay/alternator area is the one mentioned attached to back of post....there is of course the 1/0awg wire going to the starter but that is it....will check again tomorrow to quadruple check.

So it looks like there should be a wire going from the buss bar to the 200A alt, it is marked as a 1-0

Start by counting the big wires going to the buss bar, you should have one to the starter, one to the alt, one to the slave connector and if you have the AUX. power connector behind the pass seat one to there.
