New whistler turbo?

i just installed a new rebuilt whistler turbo and installed it on my deuce form Boyce Equipment. for some reason it doesn't whistle as loud as some of the ones i heard. i am concerned i installed it wrong or there is something else i have to do to make it louder.

any help appreciated thank you

Did you adjust the volume knob all the way clockwise?

Post a pic of the turbo and we will be able to tell what turbo it is.. there are MANY different units.

i was under the impression there was only one kind of c turbo

Are you sure you got a C turbo? The D looks similar but has a few differences. It doesn't have the loud whistle that the C does.

Oil viscosity has a lot to do with it also.

C turbo narrow and D is a bit thicker. But post a pic.

I noticed on mine when I cold start it, the whistle isn't that loud until it gets warmed up.

I have noticed that too. A lathargic whisper when it first starts up in the winter. When the oil pan gets luke warm it starts to chirp. When the temp gauge gets over 120 it whistles nicely.

I let mine warm up for 5min.in the cold morning.When I take off and tach around 1400,its the loudest I hear my C turbo.And its a pretty loud whisle.

I hate to have to ask, but it dosnt have a muffler dose it? I have noticed mine screems more with the fuel turned up.
