Sometimes people will scoff at off brand winches, but most of them are pretty decent and do what they are designed to do. I got a Zeak brand 10k winch on my pick up and it's always worked when I needed it. Only thing I've noticed is that better quality or the name brand like Warn, tend to have better heat resistance, so the winch can run longer before overheating. I know for mine, it says no more than 30 seconds or I risk overheating the winch and causing permanent damage, while under load. Another thing, people will install these electric winches and never work them until they need it a year later and it doesn't work. Moisture still gets inside and causes corrosion. To maintain any electric winch for a long time, work it for about 5 mins once a week or every two weeks. The heat from the motor will evaporate any moisture inside, this can be done just by working the cable out and pulling it back in a few times or work it out and pull it back in while on another vehicle in neutral so it winds up tight on the drum.
