Thanks to all for the good pointers and things to consider. Some I had thought of and some I hadn't. I will definetly let you guys know if I go through with it and how it turns out.

my buddie rented a deuce and two jeeps to a movie deude a couple years ago and got $500 each for the day. they were for stationary shots because the actors could'nt drive standard shifts. the scenes were left on the cutting room though. but, boy do they feed you good.

1/2 day is the same rate as a full day. Go with an empty tank, there's a fuel truck on set, have him top her off. You get a nice lunch out of it too.
