ok i just took my starter to the rebuild shop and they gave me a free brand new gear reduction starter, just hook up 12v to it?

You can, just hook it up....But if you don't replace the flex plate the same thing will just happen again.

Is your truck or blazer still original or have you changed it to 12V system? It came 24V which both the starter & solonoid on top of starter is 24V?

it is most original, i still have 24v post's with the two optima battery's, and i also have 12v posts.

You can find directions on how to convert...Are you going to replace the flex plate?

no they were all 24v starters and im not sure yet on replacing the flex plate i dont know really if i need to?

yea let me go take a pic, also i am not sure if it matters but the people before me have a starter push button no relay? would that make a differnce?

Are you saying that someone has changed some things & that you are using a pushbutton to "start" the truck rather than turning the ign. switch? Usually the pushbutton is an indication that someone has converted the glow plug over to manuel pushbutton. Also don't understand what you mean by "you have both 24v posts and 12v posts. Sounds like there could be ???????

yes the glow plugs are also a push button. and in teh engine bay i have like ternimals on the firewall that are 24v, and on the driver side there are 2 that are 12v.

I would definately do the flex plate,that is serious damage, its not that bad a job.

yes, you need a flywheel. Also you need someone to ck volts going to starter etc. Do you know if the batteries are hooked up to provide 24V or 12V. You probably know this but just because you have 2 batt. DON'T mean you have 24V.

ok well looks like i am going to get a flexplate too, and there is 24v where there is supposed to be 24 and 12v where that is needed.
