The contact at the Studebaker museum is Andrew Beckman, while more knowledgeable than a layman about military vehicles, he is not an expert in such. Studebaker's history spanned more than 100 years, so he has a lot of territory to cover. He is a very nice guy. The number is 574-235-9714. Their records are not 100% complete, but the have the build sheets for many of the M35s.. Have your manufacturer's serial number (MXXXXX) ready when you contact them. There is a moderate fee for this service, but it is well worth it.
