Grabbing some video is always a good way to remember an old truck before it's gone. What sucks is I didn't come down and grab some video....or get to drive it....or squirt some water. lol. We'll get our Jellybean set up one day and everyone can come up for a squirt, ......meanwhile.

Yep, I did video the load and unload. Will do one more of my kids driving it on my property. How often does a 12 year old get to drive a fire truck?

Can anyone get me a picture of the engine data plate on one of these things? (should have rack setting and the like). How many HP are they? I have heard reports that the 1693's in these are 525 - can anyone verify?

Not 500hp. I think it was 400hp, which was big time back then. I just lifted the engine out of this fire truck. It is very large and very heavy. Way more than a Cummins Signature 600hp ISX I have sitting next to it, which is many decades newer of course.

$1,000, which is way below scrap price considering the weight and amount of chassis body pure aluminum. Engine and axles removed. Rest complete and very good condition. Everything moved and worked.
This just got a whole lot more interesting...

Wonder if anybody else might want the deal?

I’d really like to see it go to support others. There is so much unique hardware on here it is sickening. Trans, transfer case, all controls, pumps, gauges, nozzles, all good. But in the end, she will be hard to move with no axles and not many of thee are personally owned, so will have to disappear before snow flies one way or another.

One more heck of a truck - but without axles and and engine about all it would be good for is as a parts machine - or back in the day - it could have been a city park playground toy. But now days the younguns aren't as smart as they used to be and might fall off it. And the parents would sue. Heck, we had an F86 Sabre, an old steam locomotive, a sherman tank and several other really cool things. Park was Freedom Park. Idea was - oops, I dunno maybe we were on top of the world when it was built - and then "stupid came along" and all that stuff was removed. We even had lead paint on the park toys. But, we were smart enough not to chew on the freakin playground toys.

Okay. Off the soapbox. - Quit yer whinin'!

It really is sad to know that the poor old truck can't even live out its days in a park though. :-( Wish she could have been saved, but at least parts of her will be put to good use.

Trans is stil in the truck. Is a divorced mounted unit, was not on rear of engine.

Yep, to steal words of others, Detroit was the Arsenal of Democracy during WWII when the auto plants were converted to build planes, tanks, engines, etc... Now it’s Hash Bash (Ann Arbor).

Jellybean's in good company holdin' all her pieces including the seat. There will be a day when those who want to smell the P-4 can do it. Not sure how or when but someone's going to dump a load of cash on this truck and I'll manage the project until it drips water from the cannons. Ideally we get her in private hands around Fort Indian Town Gap and open her to the public.

How bout' a picture and the specs. The little lady read rack setting and she say's it's 36" 25" 36". .......I said it's 0.135 to match my Deuce...... I was right about that and Tampa Bay Lightning winning tonight so....hey twice today :D If I'm taking chances I'd say Tampa wins the Cup......what was I doing....oh ya, the rack!
