Pintle hitch nut size?

I'm trying to remove the pintle hook on my M998. I need to order a socket large enough to remove the nut holding it on, but I can't find the size mentioned anywhere. Does anyone know what size socket I need?

Is it rusted? It shouldn't be that tight. Take the cotter pin out and see if you can turn the nut.

It's not rusted, but won't just twist off by hand. I need to get a socket on it, I just don't have one that big and need to know what size to order. Thank you.

I just used a pipe wrench on mine. It was decently tight but it was easy with a medium sized pipe wrench.

Or a set of Sockets, Harbor Freight has them reasonable, at least when I ordered them when I bought my M35A3 some 8 years ago or so.

It looks like nobody answered you… the socket size is 1 7/8” …. I JUST NOW bought a socket for that very thing.

Welcome to the SS forums, someone did answer him 6 years ago, (post #4) this is a very old thread answering now would do little good.
