10th Anniversary Car Show Poster.jpg

So, this thing is for classic cars and the sort, but I started going to it a few years ago because my M35A2 is certainly a classic & Vietnam era. Lots of vets stopped by and a few related stories about their experiences with the Deuce. I've brought my truck to other shows and it's always popular because I don't care if people touch, climb on or otherwise sit in the cab. A few MV owners stopped by and the next year we had 2 Deuces and a 5 ton.

So, if you happen to be in the area, maybe consider bringing your mv by, or just stopping and saying, "hi".

Bellingham is about 90 miles north of Seattle.

Might make more sense for the north enders, BUT.....

There's an annual campout down south...

We usually have people from Canada, Oregon, Idaho, and even California.....

We have more fun.... :p

Would you stop. I don't know why this has to be a competition. You have your thing, I get it. This is a car show 200 miles away. It's 1 day.

We need some stuff for us guys on the East Side of the Cascades in Washington State! I live 50 miles from Canada in the top middle of the state. Dam virus stuff has ruined a lot of good things in the works around here! Taking over 500 mile drives for a day outing is a lot of pain on my old body to do at once in my M1078!

Good to see there are several things going on; too bad they are both on the same weekend.

Yes, one is there to "support veterans" while the other is just a bunch of people with military trucks or equipment or whatever just hanging out.

Unfortunately with a lower population density, there just aren't as many people in your area with rigs to facilitate an event going on over there.
The car show is kind of a long drive for an event lasting a few hours. Even for me it would be a 350 mile round trip, and involves driving through Seattle/Tacoma area, which is something I avoid doing as much as possible.
If you don't know the details, the Winlock event goes from Thursday to Sunday (and longer stays can be arranged with little issue). Still a little over 300 miles each way for you, but separated into 2 drives instead of 1.

It's not a competition, we always win.

And, apparently you're missing the emojis.. It's an indication that it's meant to be a joke, lighthearted, you know, just playing around. Don't take things so seriously. You do you.

I'm seeing the emojis, but you're just coming across as a jerk, to me. You're the one that started this, I asked you nicely to stop. Since, it seems I'm the only one that is irked, and you can't take a hint, I'll just ignore you.

I go to other car shows, every event organizer has been thrilled as they don't get many larger trucks and our MV's are really popular. I know there car shows all over the state (even the East side).

It might seem like our trucks are out of place, and the first time I went I figured everyone would ignore me, but instead I was answering questions all day. And everyone, from little kids to oldsters enjoy sitting in the cab. Most car shows have a token entry fee (~$20), but some are free. And the show is usually raising money for some charity.

Best part is, all those other people spent hours polishing & shining their cars, and I just come as is.

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will recover as much as possible and be able to make it to events in the future.

Hey Montaillou , you still out there ? I've been out for awhile and lost touch with almost everyone. Did you ever make it to Europe with your Deuce ?

Hello Coug. Is the Winlock event still going on ? I've been off the air for a while and don't know whats happening.
Thanks.
It won't be at Winlock this year, the site owner has a lot going on and is unable to host.
I know a few of us are planning on the NW Overland Rally in Plain, WA June 16-19, and then after that there will likely be the Great Western FMTV Roundup again this year in Chehalis at the end of July or beginning of September (all vehicles are welcome; most of what show up are MTV/FMTVs that have been converted to overlanding rigs)

Well, I'm still working on the Deuce. I tripped and fell into an engine swap, and that's gonna happen in about a month. Kind of a shame after I spent $1k sound proofing the cab against our rather loud engines. After the swap, I figure I'll have the quietest M35 cab, ever! I'm probably 1-2 years out on my sabbatical.

I also bought an M61A2 for a friend and some time has gone into that as well.
