Someone mentioned how fast they go up when crude raises but also how slow they come back down. I would bet there are a big percentage of stations that don't wait until they have run out of there current inventory before they raise the price. We had one close to here that was guilty of that and they nailed there a$$ big time. I can think of another that probably should be turned in.

What you said isn't illegal. Oil is a commodity so when the mother company calls the station and says up 20 cents the station owner has to change it. Likewise when the company calls later and says down 10 cents the owner has to do the same.

It works like the stock market, you want to see fast gains and slow declines. Unfortunately we let our primary source of fuel become a commodity that is traded and priced as such.
