Found this diagram for the spin on filter adapters made out of sheetmetal. Probably not that helpful, but it does give you specs on the key measurements. You can modify your adapter from there. I used 5" OD 6061 for the adapter plate. It's basically a cup on the underside of it. With a pocket up top to allow the hex stock/thread adapter to set flush at the filter base surface. Honestly it's probably cheaper to buy them already made if you don't have the materials. I paid $140 for the materials and filters. And I still need to find the gaskets. So the $200 for the kits are well worth it. But it was fun to turn these parts.

You lucky dog ! You own a metal lathe ! Plus, you know how to use it.
I've wanted a lathe for decades but could never afford one. Now that I could buy a good used one, I don't have the years left to learn how to use it !
Go ahead and get one. Buying a couple of lathes, mills, and a tractor have been some of the best "frivolous" purchases I've made. I'm not a master by any means. But I get by with them. Lotta reading and watching youtube for me lol.

I did buy the tractor three years ago now. A nice Kubota.
Maybe I will look into buying a small lathe then. :)

You plan on making anymore of them? Could be a good way to trade for things or parts you need 🤷
I really haven't had any intention to do that. There's plenty of people out there with them on the shelves ready to ship. Honestly If I'm in these for $140. I'm not sure how they're making much of a profit on them at $200 shipped. I guess if I had ordered more material in volume it would have been cheaper. But again, I'm working for myself. This was more or less a "I bet I can do that" project.
