I have been thinking about plumbing my block heater from bottom rad.hose to a threaded cyl.head flange #1402-8949,think it would work better than running thru heater core.Or plumbing up front near thermostat, would keep all heat in block.Does anyone have thread size on the threaded block off plate? I have 2 tank style heaters, one is kim hotstart# tps151gt10-000,the other is kim hotstart3 sb115100-000,which is very heavy duty. Both are 1500W,one has check valve so cant be back fed. And I also have a temro 1000w freeze plug heater which I would use when really cold.None are installed yet.

The temro(aka zerostart) is all you should need unless you live in Antarctica. I have the 600w Temro and my truck has had no issue starting in -15f actual temp(not wind chill).

Wind chill is only for humans, not trucks. ;-)
