Polverone,
The insignia for my truck would look cool to me. Enlargment from this is what I hoped for. As a windshield insignia it looks really cool (well, I'm biased)! PM me. I'm trying to upload for you to see. Since I'm moving to Texas I'd like to see about this other one too.

Here are the markings on my truck. It was surplused out in Southern Calif.
63rd RSC is a reserve component uniting all the reserve units in the western US.

Its evolved from the 63rd inf division of world war two as the 63rd Regional Support Command. Sub-unit 163rd Ordnance...truck number A-320.

I researched the vehicle thru the 40th inf division another Calif reserve component that I was a SSGT in.

My truck most probably hauled ammunition in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf war as the 163rd was there. It is highly probable as all the parts of the truck are stenciled rblt 3-93.....when it returned home. As a sidenote...the front of the bed shows numerous dents that look much like they were caused by ammo/rocket boxes.

Back at ya Red Devils Dude -
That rainbow is not clear enough to make a decal.........but!!! It is very easy for me to re-create that artwork. [^] [^]

Shoot me a PM and we can discuss how many would you like at what size off the forum to save space.
If this takes off I'll start a new topic.

By the way, I am doing all of these for my cost . My contribution to the fellow SS members.

Man, this is like doing a goole search...

The amount of information that comes back is huge...

I have a Sergeant here that works for me from out of artillery.

We were looking at the picture, but could not make anything out to figure this out.

THIS SITE IS GREAT AND I WISH FOR ITS LONG TERM SUCCESS!!!

Regards,

Gary,
Got the PM. That's what this forum is all about! BTW, I found a bunch of sites with insignia information. I googled army reserve insignia and got a truckload of sites. I hope this helps those playing at home.

Yo Brent,
I seem to have jumped in with both feet.
The only problem is that it usually takes 1-2 hours to read everthing........that's not including all the backlog of info that came before I signed up.
I am slowly digging through it though.
So much information here and it is growing by leaps and bounds in the short time I have stuck my nose in the monitor here.
The good part is that I learn something new everytime I log in. Hallelujah!!!

P,
No biggie. I sent the check this morning. I'm leaving for Houston in less than two weeks. Therefore, I'm not in any hurry to get them. I much prefer quality to quantity anytime. However much time it takes to do it right the first time is exactly how much time it takes. I'll be happy to be patient.

I recently acquired my deuce - I only have the "VIN" - 4m2910.

From what I have read here and elsewhere I know that tracking down this history on the machine is very unlikely - but I thought I would give it a shot - anyone know of any resources?

The original deuce bumperettes were marked "A(?)40" over "240-SPT" on the left with the right bumperette being unreadable; but the baby HEMTT is now such a composite that I figured why blame it on anybody in particular. My bumper markings will be xXxxxxx over a small CA and a small US.
(The truck's licence plate number over California and United States).

Good discussion, you've got me interested in finding out more about mine.
below is a picture of a number under the hood. What does it signify? Also, where on the doors would the vehicle number be located? Right now there are no numbers but something could be under the paint. Thanks for all your help.

Bumper #'s would be on Bumpers.. Wouldnt typically be on any other parts of the truck. The "NK06R8" on the underneath of the hood is the trucks registraton # for the Army.
