This creates a huge problem for every other M1009 owner in LA. Every single M1009 has the same first 7 characters in the VIN. Guess you are the only one getting your truck registered in the fashion. A better method would have been to use the military registration numbers on the lower line of the data plate.
Same as the M1008s as well. I will go by DMV in Red Stick when I get ready to register mine and see if they will accept the first 7 NUMBERS on the vin number. I can't see 100 M1008s running on the road with all the same numbers...
Yeah, the Sheriff Dept and the State guys are really nice down here, you might want to stop by one and talk with them. Or next time, just pull over and see if the follow, have a nice chat, usually works. I used to work in a casino and parked my deuce in the overflow lot, had all of the locals and even some feds stopped by and take a look-see. Once they know you, no problems...
Yeah I understand the concern. But it's what ever they want. I had made up my own #'s at first and called DMV and told them what I had and what I was about to send in and the lady on the phone said no I don't think so and asked her supervisor and then she told me what #s to put on the truck. The 1G***** which is on the truck now . Yeah my best friend is a Calcasieu cop he said I shouldnt have any problems except for a few younger cops who don't know. I had a sheriff follow me so close last night I coulded even see his head lights so I got nervous and turned off.
