Installed two new GEL batteries : AUTOCRAFT PLATINUM, at 750 CCA's. They were alt less than OPTIMA batteries and I found the original hold-down hardware in place, which I reused. Thee truck now starts with a ROAR !

I have 365/80R20's XZL MRAP's all around and my buddy has G177 11x20's all around with dualed rears. I think it would be neat to do a truck with dualed 11's on the rear with the 365/80R20's XZL MRAP's on the front. Have you considered that?

First off "Thank you to all who help us with our hobby". Now after thousands of miles, thousands of dollars, one wrecked pickup and trailer my tires are going on. I am still torn over which wheel to use. I landed 12 tires and 20 MRAP rims. I put MRAP on front. I think I will run stock deuce on rear. I like that look and think it is better. Fun breaking these old tires down.

I installed a Woltech single wire 70 amp alternator.Woltech Alternator.jpg Boy those lower mount/pivot bolts are hard to get a wrench on. I wish the engineers had flipped the mounting tabs 90 degrees so they faced up instead of down. It would have been much easier to do. I twisted the heck out of my right shoulder. Anyway, the new alternator works well.

Spin on Fuel Filters

Sorry if I posted this before. The day before the alternator replacement, I installed Jatonka's spin on primary and secondary fuel filter adapters with Wix filters. It was very easy to do. I filled the new filters with fuel before I installed them, so there was no problem at all with air in the fuel lines. Brutus fired right up and ran great.Primary Fuel Filter Small.jpgSecondary Fuel Filter Small.jpg

They are ugly-tight to get to. I thought it would be good if they were just elevated. Would allow better access to the pivot bolts as well as the block bolts.

This week I got my deuce running again after 3-4 years of sitting. The in-tank fuel pump died and some of the wheel cylinders were leaking so bad that the pedal just goes to the floor. Work took over my life and the truck just sat.

I ordered a brand new pump from Olympic Controls and replaced the Korean knock-off with it.

I also had to replace the batteries, I went with Everstart Maxx from Wal-Mart. I had Interstate 6TL's at one point but they lasted about 6 months before one exploded. No more 6TL's for me. I was going to go with Interstate batteries again but they're been hit or miss for me lately. I thought I would give the Everstart Maxx's a try (3 year full replacement/2 pro-rate.)

I had to un-freeze my winch drum lock, it was corroded and frozen. I'm glad to be able to get that free'd up, I was worried for a little while about it breaking. The clutch side had a cup of water or so in it. I drained that and replaced with 1.25qt of gear oil. The gearbox had oil in it with no water which is good for my worm gear. I pulled the cable all the way out and wound it back up to get things working again. The winch worked flawlessly. So happy about that.

This week I'm going to change the oil, oil filters, and fuel filters. I'm also planning to order 6 new wheel cylinders. Things are looking up for my deuce lately!

When I first cranked it up it didn't want to idle which was looking like a HH issue. After it ran for a little while that symptom has gone away and it's purring like a kitten.

I installed a parking brake switch from an M35A3 and raised my gages a half inch so that the turn signal level could move to the emergency position (all the way up). Unfortunately the logic is reversed and the light comes on when the brake is disengaged, I was hoping it would come on when engaged so I wouldn’t forget to disengage it before driving away…140622 M35A2 Gage Panel Raised lowrez.jpg140622 M35A2 Hand Brake Switch Install lowrez.jpg

Modified a heat guard to fit over my soon to be installed Aero Turbine Muffler.
Gave it a bigger radius, and extended the mounting clamps to mount on the stack and not the muffler.
Saw no way the stock one would work IMG_2963.jpgand not look even more out of place.
