Just doing some "semi annual" maint. before heading down to S. Padre Island for some spring break fun.
I went ahead and tossed a tire mount on the DuraVee, not having even bead locks in those Petlas tires means even a "simple" flat can cause allot of trouble.
I usually just toss the spare in the back but it's a little tight trying to sleep in the back.
Diggi Dog says lets go!!!

SPRING BREAK??? You???

Gonna show of the new knees to the teeny boppers?

And a APC dome light (Used 24V aircraft bulbs for NVG and white light, Amazon bulbs keep blowing out)

Also put some MLV behind the dog house (heat formed) and some under hood open cell foam. Huge difference, definitely a win however with a Tmax of 180F I might switch out the MLV for some lead sheet, I hear that works as good and wont get soft/smell.

Hello everyone. I moved from the trucks. To my first M1097. I really like it but got a valve cover leak recently and over night developed a fuel leak. The mechanic who was going to replace my valve cover gasket pointed it out looks like the weep hole. Seems like a common issue so now looking for an injection pump. Hope I didn’t make a bad choice. I bought all fluids to do a complete fluid change. I was told it had the 6.5 turns out it’s 6.2. But I like it, just like any other MV you have to put money into them. If any one has any pointers or advice. I appreciate it thank you.

Injection pumps with their installation are painful.

You will need to power wash the engine and then dry the area thoroughly so you don’t get dirt into the engine. Then you will need to remove the air intake and then you will need to loosen the injector lines at the fuel injectors and at the injection pump.

The first time I did this took several days. The next time took one day.

There is a steep learning curve. Feel free to PM me and I’ll provide you with my telephone number and talk you through it just like Steve Kavanaugh retired warhorses talked me through it. I’m happy to pay it forward.

Steve Kavanaugh was extremely patient and extremely helpful and I can’t say enough about the great vehicle he sold me and the tremendous support he has given me to get that vehicle working.

Hello. So I need an Injection pump. I know this isn’t the classified section. But my question is can they be replaced with another one that’s not the same number. For example if it’s DB2-1234 will DB2-4567 work. Reason I’m asking is is the company I’m looking at does not list the one I have. Mine is DB2 829-4879. Is this an odd one? I did find 2 one for $2600 and $1600. I think that’s insane to pay that much for a pump. I find other Stansdyne pumps for 500 from the same vendor that look the same. So I’m curious what’s different. Thank you

Many Standyne pumps look the same but have 4 and 6 and 8 cylinder function. THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME.

I suggest you take out a crowbar, muscle open your wallet, and purchase the correct unit.

The pain will fade after you spend over 8 hours to replace the unit.

Money means little when you begin to question life’s decisions and begin to contemplate chewing lead.

Welcome to the dark side of this maddening hobby.

PM me for help on swapping the pump.

you cant Just use a different model pump and expect it to work correctly, the 4879 is for a 1990-1/2 and above 6.2L engine.
being there are so many auction trucks that were reset, verify you have a 6.2 and not a 6.5, it’s not completely uncommon for the military to have installed the wrong pump.
