What is the SAE bell-housing size for the 8.3 and 250?

Just saw one posting that had a pdf saying the 8.3 is a SAE#1...What I dont know, however, is if ALL the 6cta engines were #1s....

I believe they are all sae #1 its one of the most common also.

There are like 8 different sizes of flywheel housing sizes. Cummins mainly uses 1, 2 and 3. I have seen 0, only once and 4 only once, not on a C series though.

That's why, if someone can post an ESN, I can find out what the gooberment spec was.

Any attempt at putting in the 8.3 wont happen till spring. No time or space to attempt now.

So are the mounting arms offset like the one for the 250? In other words are they mounted in the same place? I know that they are different as the starter is mounted different.

Sorry Jeff, I don't have a NHC250 bellhousing to compare to.
The M939's 6CTA- rear engine mounts are positioned at the same height as well as equidistant, front-to-rear and to center of crank.
