What to do after flooding?

Had a bi t of a flood that put water just over the hubs of a couple CUCVs and a couple deuces. don't think it reached the vent caps of the deuces.

What teardown/cleaning do you recommend?

Mark, Wheel bearings! Clean and repack. Don't let them sit too long They will rust on you. The duece's front axle will need a teardown. The axle shaft bushings will need a cleaning and repacking also. And of course pull the axle fill plugs and check for water.

clean the brake shoes and spray the springs and other metal parts with wd- 40 or another water repelant .

How is this any different than the many many videos/experiences Ive seen/had where axles on the duece, and other 1/2 tons like your CUCV were submerged while running repeatedly?

Honestly I thought nothing would be harmed if the seals were intact.

God knows Ive submerged truck and Jeep axles well over the tires for hours on end with no ill effect.

Everything that I have read in the TMs says the chasis requires service following any submersion in water.

Useless you have new seals and a new gasket on the outside of the hub there a possiblity water got into the hub.

Really not that hard, lift the front axle, pull the hubs off, and take a look.

Mark- this is what I would do (what heavysteven said). Take the truck that got the most water, or one you haven't done the bearings on, and take it apart and check. You'll know right away if the others may need attention, and how much you'll need to do.
