i really need to know soon thank you!!
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
thanks Gimp, I need a tranny soon!! (currently in the shop w/ it removed)Pretty sure its a 5Sp over drive 5 ton trans
ok thanks! i have not seen either one... its in the shop. i was just informed of this needed repairThe "tail" or output should be obvious. A deuce has 4 bolt holes, that one should have like 8.
thanks but this proble is already going to take most of my tax refund so cant afford any custom work already bought a clutch kit for it too!!All spicer parts are interchangeable with one another. like input and output shafts find a spicer 5 or 7 speed. swap your bellhousing over to it and the output yoke or have a shop fab your driveshaft to the different length of the transmission.

there is a deuce tranny in the classifieds in NC
Or pick up a 5 ton clutch with flywheel housing for SAE 2 and you can install most transmissions to it with a few mods to the rear i am sure.
I have heard from many people said there is no seal on the input shaft yet my mechanic ( he use to own and maintain a 5 ton wrecker) ordered a replacement, how is that possible???There is no seal on the input shaft on a deuce. Maybe your trans had to much fluid in it? The leak sent you to the shop? Just guessing. Clue us in on what happened.

Yes yes i realize what you and others are saying.http://test.steelsoldiers.com/upload/M35/TM9-2520-246-34-1.pdf
Go to this TM and download, print it and ask your mechanic where the input shaft seal is located.
Just trying to show you the facts. This site has all the info you could ever need for a deuce, just ask !
His question was:It is an oddball size its not 2 and its not 3. The LDS is a 2, but u use the same flywheel on an LDT and LDS also.
The correct (short) answer would have been SAE#3.......
What sae pattern is the duece trans
yes I agree, that's why I am going to have him take a picture or show me the bearings and the old 1 and have him explain to me why my transmission has an imput shaft seal and no 1 elses doesYea but I bet you get billed for one and if you do then I would dispute that.
