I’ve got a 2003 M1123 with a front electrical winch. I bought the controller and my winch only seems to let out but not retract. Has anyone had this problems or have any recommendations to fix?

You purchased the wrong controller, the one for the milemarker hydraulic winch. Not a big deal. You just have to change the wiring on the winch side or controller side, your choice. There are only 3 wires. Pretty simple. Good luck.

Milemarker Hydraulic Winch uses the yellow plastic handled 3 pin cannon plug controller. Part # 12469356-2 NSN: 6150-01-475-8835

The A0-A2 HMMWV Warne electric winches use the black rubber coated handle with toggle switch, and square box 3 pin connector (looks like for the Cadillac Valve time delay Module) controller. (Country's photo) Part 12338495 NSN: 2590-01-214-1566

Some of these black rubber winch controllers have the 3 pin cannon plugs Part# 12447171 NSN: 2590-01-448-1105 Seco Parts Photo:

Modifying the Part #12447171 black rubber handle winch controller to work with the Milemarker Hydraulic:

Ok thanks. Not sure exactly which one I’m supposed to buy. I bought the 3rd one in the picture Crapgame posted. It’s black with the 3 pin plug. I’m going to take it apart and switch the wires and see if that works.

Ok I bought the 3rd one in the pictures you posted. I’m gonna follow the instructions and switch the wires and see if that works. Thanks.

That 3rd one is the proper one...no need to switch wires for the Warn electric winch.

Solinoids can go bad...and theres a overheat circuit that can go out.
If its the completly potted together assembly...good luck getting to solenoids....{ 12k winch }
If its a 9k winch...remove plastic cover for access.

You could use a small jumper wire to confirm whether or not your winch works properly before cutting any wires just to be sure. I still think you have the wrong controller.

Put a picture of your winch on here.
