Murphy keeps an eye on roadbound truck trips & it is hit or miss, depending on how lucky you are for the miss. SS members seem to kick Murphys bad deeds to the curb when ever they can. Thanks guys for the Murphy deflections or repairs because of him/it!

I think Murphy is transgender, non-denominational, and all-inclusive. No one gets forgotten by Murphy.

Murphy is one of those equal opportunity phenomenons:

Well I'm Irish so Murphy sent his little brother instead of showing up himself. For the huge thud, whoosh of air, and banging that started I figured a tow was in order (or if really bad a TOW - you anti-tank guys will get that). To be able to fix it in under a minute with a new hose clamp was almost miraculous.

I think the driver has been fooling with the smoke screw or something, what, were you running 50 psi boost at the time to blow apart that clamp??

70psi? I can hit 59 downhill with the wind blowing my way. Otherwise it's 57 with the stock gearing. The only way to get any more speed is to turn up the rpms, already set to 2600 I believe. Or swap high speed gears. I don't think it's healthy for the 3116 to rev higher than 2600 though.

Why are trying to run it up to 70 if it's governed to 55 mph.
and why do people always do this kind of foolishness when they least need to break down?
I suppose you missed that mkcoen and I are kidding around? As in comic relief?

This missed comedy/sarcasm is a hint as to why it is wise for anyone to use emoticons in post just to help make sure the :mrgreen:ha :mrgreen:ha does not go over anyone's head.

Glad to hear you're:driver: zooming along. Make sure to add a pyro so your super secret turbo mod does not do more than pop a hose but :burn: cooks a piston too.:doghead:. That new hose clamp was a chrome one right? Cause you know those are more aerodynamic:tank:

ok.... so I suck a humor.... but you get the point poke-new.gif

course I missed it. I don't have a sense of humor I'm aware of :)
I can rent you mine but be warned it's extremely dry.

Finally made it home. It was much more comfortable driving home in the dark at 85 than in the daylight at 95. AND it was uphill both ways.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed in my fellow Texans. We sat for about 45 minutes on the side of the road with the cab tilted and only had 1 person stop to see if we needed help (other than a State Trooper). If I see an MV, whether active, Guard, Reserve, or privately owned, broken down I'm going to stop and see if they need anything, if nothing but a bottle of water. The one guy that did stop offered to drive in to town to get us a hose clamp but by then Sarge was on his way.

Typically I gauge a civilian vehicle driver to determine if I need to stop. Young guy or guys I figure can handle themselves and have a cell phone to call for help. Older folks or women (I know, ageist and sexist) I'll generally see if I can lend a hand or keep them company until help arrives. We, as a society, have veered way off course when it comes to being neighborly. Or (careful or I'll start getting political) I was just too close to Austin to have real people drive by.

So your favorite city in all of Texas is Austin!?
