Been awhile…been a long time since I have been in Steelsoldiers. The Goat is still alive and well. Funny, as I write this, it has been 10 years since I picked this truck up. Last week, I dragged the ole Goat out of the garage. The reason? My son had requested I take him to youth football practice in the Goat. I happily agreed. Unfortunately, it had been 5 years since I drove her. Where does time go? View attachment 955827View attachment 955828View attachment 955829View attachment 955830
That is a beautiful restoratiion, wsucougarx, right down to the operation decals on the dash.

How did you find all the period details?!!

Thanks for the kind words. It was a labor of love. I did a ton of research into this restoration. All the ALICE gear, medium field packs, PASGT, are all dated 1983 or earlier. I wanted to depict an Operation Urgent Fury build. I even have the original CIA leaflets that were dropped onto Grenada. I have about a dozen ERDL RDF uniforms to put on display with this Goat when the time came...still yet have to display it.

I don't think you're too late, MuleMac01:

- You evidently got a Goat (and a Mule), already

I think that your barnyard is something plenty Special!!

Yeah but some parts are gone.. like the Swing Arm MG mount I need... axle seals ect ect.. I want to add fender clearance lights but need the brackets.. no one has them.. and a rear cargo cover... dash window thumb screws that are 5/16 24 nobody makes and I can't find.. good tires not brand new.. I don't have 6 k to spend atm.. its just frustrating... because I'm like the only goat in Las Vegas. The closest goat I think is in Boulder city.

Oh BTW my mule is sold.. I spent to much to get parts for the goat

Wonder if there's some way to fabriacate things like that, with a 3D Printer (or someone/ some service that does such things):

- It's out of my "paygrade" to know if that's a thing

But someone here smarter than me (which isn't saying much), somebody here might know...
