I'm not going for a Seabee truck. The regular Navy did have M37's that were used on bases or assigned to ships.

I am going to have the US with the anchor in the middle made into 16in stencils for the doors. This is a US Navy tribute truck, not an actual restoration. Besides, all the research I have done, the Navy would paint the truck whatever the guy painting it wanted to paint it. There were no books or TM's the Navy put out with standard paint and stencils for vehicles like the Army did. So whatever you want, is actually correct!

zout's doing such a great job, the next time I need an MV redone, I'm tempted to send it down to him to get the royal treatment!

Just so you fellas can go to bed peaceful tonight I at least got something done on the 37. It was 113 in the garage with 3 fans on me and it felt like I was in a Betty Crocker Microwave oven - but overcame all odds.

Got the grille back on - cleaned up the back lenses and yes the hitch is coming off and all the frame paint will get touched back up when done - you guys are a tough crowd to keep content.
Got the uprights laid out and the cross bar - you can see all the rivets someone placed in it - my guess to hold cheap plastic sheeting so they had cover - ???? who knows but they are all getting removed once blasted.DSCN0566.jpgDSCN0567.jpgDSCN0568.jpgDSCN0569.jpgDSCN0570.jpgDSCN0571.jpg

who knows but they are all getting removed once blasted.

Question for the expert - would it be easier to remove the rivets before blasting? Then the rivets heads will not shield the crossbar.

Dang - after all this I feel honored to make some what of an impression for someone to do better on their project.

RIVETS - either way BRO - I will sand blast down - clean up - fill holes - primer and paint. No reason to waste material just chasing rivets when all the surface has to get to OEM anyhow. Then just fill in the holed as they are cheap o pop rivets. Then again - I could drill out over more than 150 pop rivets - then fill but the end will all be the same.

Something is funny about this paint on the surface = will have to put my finger on it and see what is going on. Hopefully after the weekend I will know more. AND NO it has nothing to do with its color as putrid as it is.:)

Both the M48 and M59 had sheet metal wrapped and welded over a soft top frame. (They prolly didn't have a welder-my guess)

Hmmm...let's see if I remember most of the military vehicle projects:

2 - M38A1's (zout-2 and Dinger)
1 - M43 Ambulance (zout)
2 - M109 Campers (zout and Dinger)
1 - M909 Camper (zout)
1 - M923 (swiss)
1 - CUCV (swiss)
1 - M101A2 trailer(swiss)
1 - WC-22 (PB)
1 - K18-C (PB)
1 - M37
(Ferro)

Did I miss any??

Ah yes - the M909 ATC how could PaPaBear forget :deadhorse:

Got the stencils delivered this morning - going to try to finalize one of them which looks dis-proportionate in a lage size - we'll see. Also trying to narrow down the door stencil logo.

If it seems like this is going slower than normal it is - just lots of stuff happening on this end that I have no control over so hang in there.
