What have you done WITH your wrecker this week?

image.jpgI got mine stuck on a pipeline after using it to rescue a family friend's son's 4x4. Got his truck out at 3:23 pm, got my wrecker stuck on the way out, was out until 4:37 am getting it out. Broke one front shackle mount, three straps, two chains, driver windshield in the wrecker, the front winch driveshaft came apart, and ruined the front winch cable and bent the winch cross flats.... Would have been nice to have a spotter than knew how to watch a winch cable.

Pulled up about 14 pine trees too.

Jeepsinker, just wondering:

- Do you have a car like this in your garage?

I have an IPhone 4, it won't let me do any of that, or I can't figure out how to do it.
Got it out using both the front and rear winches to pull it out and spin it all the way around, at which point it was still stuck. After that we got it out by jerking on it with the deuce and using the front winch and snatch block to assist. That wrecker will never leave pavement again without a front driveshaft.

Took a 300 gal gas tank off it's stand so I can put a new filler and vent cap on it. Much easier than working on it 10' in the air off a ladder.

I used the crane so to lift up on the building to start it on the trailer and also helped steer it to keep it straight. I had the building built on 4x4 runners so it could be moved. We notched the 4x4's where each floor joist met it so there would be equal pressure on the whole floor. The trailer belongs to my best friend. No mods to it. Just got lucky I guess but it does sit level and trails great. image.jpgNot sure why but my pics keep turning sideways.

Nice Thinking

How did you manage that pull without tearing the shed all apart?

Were you pulling from some "girders" in the flooring?
