Swollen and broken glow plug. Oh man. Its the a.c. delco 60g that everyone here seems to like. All the others came out fine. Had 3 different brands in there.
Trying the trick to pull out the end through the injector hole but ran out of daylight.

Be careful. I have been using curved jaw vise grips and needle nose pliers. One of my latest and so far greatest tricks is the wire tie thru the nozzle hole break off the tip/head and pull it out. good Luck.

By far the most frustrating thing so far!

Great Job. I knew you could get it done. No way is the wrong way. It is the way that gets it done that counts and that way may be wrong the next time. Been there done that. Never the same each time. You got it out though ! That's the important thing. What you should do now if you drive your CUCV on a regular basis is to replace those glow plugs at a set mileage every time. Just like replacing spark plugs or changing the engine oil. That what most all fleets do. Just like you should do with your injectors.

Installed all (3) new soft lines on the M1008 brakes. Bled & topped off with DOT 3. Questioning why the brake fluid looked so clean and new, I soon realized my mistake ~ Dot 3 + Dot 5 mixup. Suck all of the now maple syrup looking fluid out of MC and follow TB 43-0002-87 for BFS ~ Dot 5 Brake fluid silicone conversion. (3) containers of DOT 5 later we are once again clean and now purple at each bleeder.

Wife is gonna drive it round the lot every so often. I'm about to leave for army stuff.

I've put a little less than 10k miles on it since getting it 5 years ago. What is a regular basis for glow plugs?


Going to seafoam in the fuel tank and call it good for now.

Rain + no ABS + panic stop + no stopping distance = bang

Luckily he admitted fault to the cop and his insurance company....

One wheel is pointing slightly different than the other... brush guard got pushed into the bumper, which got pushed in.

It doesn't look that bad, except when you compare one side to the other, you can see how bad t was pushed in.

That is so easy to fix. Just a little pulling on the brush guard and a little touch-up paint on the fender ! Then probably replace a "tie-rod end" and an alignment and your golden !

Fight it, there is probably minimal frame damage, a couple bumper brackets, maybe a bumper and grille guard, and it would be good to go. Lots of these trucks go for upwards of $5,000 now, so find a couple good examples in the same condition as yours, and the insurance will likely pay. It's a hard battle, but being to other driver admitted fault, it should be easier. Good luck.

The insurance adjuster is probably going to want to total it, keep it and give you $1500 for it calling it an old wore out 80s model pickup. Just keep you guard up and if you keep it don't let them brand your title salvage. It might pay to act like your neck is hurting if they try to give you a hard time.
