What did everyone get from Redstone today?

Well as far as bidding 200 trucks price up without planning on actually winning a single truck- one theory is that it makes the existing inventory of an MV dealer more valuable due to the higher cost of the auction trucks.

If the price of the trucks is 1 1/2 times that or double without that persons bid, then it's a moot point. Does anyone really think 200 trucks were going to go for 975$ ? If they were, I'd have bid them up and won a few.

I think there is a pretty limited number of people that will want these types of trucks. Most people seem to think these trucks are ugly and don't understand why anyone would want something so basic and rough looking. "At least paint it a shiny color." "And I'm not riding in that thing." "You can't possibly want to leave that flat camo paint on it." "55 mph top speed! are you kidding?" From the comments I here, there is not much to worry about. Only a select few have the acquired taste fow such a select set of vehicles.:-D
If one guy out of 100 wanted a deuce, the supply is too limited. What if a guy wanted more than one? Do we know ANYONE who has more than ONE? I think so. Maybe the MODs can tell us how the membership on SS is doing. Is the site dying off or is it growing? The MV hobby is getting more and more popular every day. It might not make it into the mainstream, but there ARE NOT enough MVs to satisify EVERY person who just MIGHT want one someday. You will always be able to get one at a decent price, but they won't be sub $1000 or even sub $1500 forever.

I had a guy tell me one time that deals in trucks something about an upcomming auction. He said he hoped the trucks went really cheap or really high. Said if they went cheap he would buy several and if they went high it just made the trucks he had for sale more valuable.

That'd be my way of thinking.

I picked up an M35A2, lot 3687.
Ah, your the lucky guy that got the truck "WITH WENCH"! Good price if it comes with a comely wench! :) Was $1695 your closing price? I tried to capture all the prices right near closing - but the site was acting wonky.

Cheers,

Clarke

Being in the northwest, where deuces seem to have dried up, I've been really envious of you guys close enough to Redstone to buy from them.

If you're willing to share, what are they going for down there?

Non "wench" trucks went for about $1000. "Wench" trucks went for about $1500. Since I have a wife, I only bid on the non-wench trucks.

Still seems cheap at twice the price. Incredible value. Until you start fixing things, shipping them, fueling them, breaking them, storing them, etc. :)

Hold on a second guys. For those of us that have been out to look at the trucks, we know that they are in pretty rough shape. And there are still trucks that people have won that aren't even delivered to Redstone yet.

It seems nice just looking at the price, but there's more to it than just than.
