OK I am starting to wonder/worry but figure i need some facts first. I know these are not the highest horse engines, but can you spin tire on dirt? on pavement?

My 1008 I cant even spin tire from a dead stop on a dirt road....just wondering if there is something wrong...lol. I know its gonna be hard to turn both tires with a slug under the hood. but our road is loose pea gravel on old asphalt so its easy to spin with anything...except my 1008.

Thanks

With the 6.2's lack of power you really wont get any tire spin in the truck. if you did a motor swap that had a lot of torque you might get some tire spin

really??? that bad on power??? WOW. I can spin the tires on the lawnmower but you can't manage it in a CUCV something wrong with that.

Not having owned one I am very surprised it can't spin on gravel. I did have a 85 K5 Blazer with the POS 305 v8 and 3.08 gears and it could at least spin in the dirt. Never figured they would develope a more gutless engine then the 305.

I always wondered if there were more pictures relating to Stretch's avatar.

My M1008 will spin on gravel without hardly trying and when I had the rear box off I went down a paved road in a residential area and had to barely touch the go pedal otherwise the tires would spin. Its all original.

I would guess your IP is about wore out. You should be able to get some wheel spin, in loose gravel. Don't expect much though.
