Pictures of the new HMMWV 6.5 engine that was installed in my CUCV. Needed parts were taken off my bad engine. The 6.5 oil pan fit perfect in the truck. The 6.2 oil pan would not fit on this 6.5 block.

Talk about bad luck, my oil cooler line had a pin hole and was spraying oil. Called all the parts places and no one had any. Chevy dealer said they could order them but would take 4 days. So I took the plugs that came with the 6.5 engine and pluged the holes in the block.

Then it happen. Bad luck again. The glow plug on the drivers side rear cyl broke while I was driving down I-95. Next thing heard was a knocking sound. Pulled over and turned off the truck.

Sitting at the truckstop on I-95 in GA at exit 1. Recovry4x4(Kenny) drove his duce from West Palm Beach to tow me back to WPB. Kenny's duce was leaking a little oil but made the trip home.

So I took the plugs that came with the 6.5 engine and pluged the holes in the block.

I don't think you want to plug the holes in the block. I would loop the lines so you get flow thru them.

it seems to me that if the lines were blocked then you would not be circulating oil thru the system. maybe there is some sort of bypass that would make this a nonissue but I don't think so.
