I agree a wrecker would be better, weight in the back would definantly help, Can I ask how do you get the brakes in the back hooked up? do you need another air supply line or are the ones on the back up for a trailer removable? Its dark out or I would go look!

I know for a street legal vehicle it is required but wasn't sure if the fact that it was being towed made difference, of coure the tires are still turning so they are capable of throwing stones and junk so I guess I should have just took a second to think, anyways thanks

Like for towing? the front glad hands provide air for the entire system, rear included. If you can not provide air then the brakes need to be caged.

Makes sense, but in the commercial world, at least in MIddle Georgia, I don't think I have ever seen a tow truck on open road NOT going well over the speed limit. Always in a big hurry, and it is wise to stay out of their way. Dangerous!

yeah they can be dangerous, I am intrested in seeing how it goes towing a bigger truck behind, will definantly have to figure out how to make the 1" work, will have to get the big tow bar home and see what we can fabricate.

You really need a medium tow bar... I have ONE of those cool 1.5 to 1 inch , and can not wait to get another... :) I also have the humvve ends that fit the heavy tow bar it goes from 1.5 to 3/4 inch pin, sooooo this is the one to copy if someone wants to make some, alot less material than the pig ones shown that i also have one of,,, and will work just fine, sorry i can not find a pic, will try if i find this post again...

emr, if you have a 1.5" to 1" adapter set for a towbar, I'm in the market.

If you guys need a few sets of the 1.5 to 1" adapters let me know . They could be machined out of steel and be stronger than the cast 1s. Just would some measurements to draw up the program.

Might even be better if you had the actual thing.

I have a friend that is going to mail me one for a template.

I will check with him to see if he would mind if I shipped it up as a loaner for you to take your own measurements. It would cut down on the errors. I'll send you a PM on this.

One thing to think about with the 1.5" to 1" adapters - not just reducing the inside diameter of the hole but checking on the "thiickness" of the feet so the holes line up. I am talking about the bottom part that sits on the bumper. I think on the larger feet, that area is bigger so the holes will not line up even with a reducer bushing in the hole.

Does that make sense? If its not too cold tomorrow, I will get one the large towbar feet and check to see if it lines up or not.
