I have nothing useful to add to this thread. Pardon my French, but these units are BADASS! Congrats to everyone that has acquired one so far.
Keeping my fingers crossed that one day an MK-48 will piss off my entire neighborhood by being parked in my driveway...
For $60 you can get a form (SF97) from govliquidation (assuming that's where you're buying it) that will assist in titling. Some people can get away without it, some can't. I didn't try to do without, so not sure if I could've saved myself $180 (I bought 3 trucks).
Since you're posting updates while on the road, I'm guessing you have a smartphone of one flavor or another. It might be worthwhile to hop onto the app store and pick up a free app like iGasUp or similar that will give you the cheapest fuel price in a designated radius.
Anyway, enjoy the road trip!
Hopefully an SS member ended up with them and will soon be posting up some pics. They sounded rough, but it would be really cool if they were just in average shape and were brought back to life with minimal expense/effort...
None of the auctions had pics, and I'm sure that helped keep the price way down. For one thing, many casual passers-by probably had no idea what a M1009 was. Then, if they happened to click on the link, the descriptions of the vehicles were VERY degrading rofl My guess is that condition wise...
Not sure if the same person picked up all 3, but if they did they got a heck of a deal. I think the most expensive one went for under $300? If only I didn't live so far away...
I'm very jealous. Congrats!
