I got the glow plugs working using dogheads suggestion thanks to all. Without this site i would have been totally screwed. On the down side i couldnt get it to start, after going through an entire checklist i cracked an injector line and found my ip is just dribbling fuel. Anyone have an...
Dead on the road in the middle of a 1200 mile trip. This morning the glow plugs didn't cycle. Is there any way to start a m1009 without using the glow plugs? Maybe the wd-40 trick or something, has anyone ever done anything like this?
85 m1009 25k miles daily driver. Lately its been throwing clouds of smoke during any acceleration, and my air filter is covered with oil. Any ideas on what the problem might be?
Yesterday I was driving on the highway (between 55 and 70) when i lost power. Wasn't sure of the problem, possibly out of fuel. Tennessee dot spotted me on the side of the road and loaned me 5 gallons of fuel. Turned it over once and saw the fuel lines (clear) fill up. The man suggested pouring...
A mechanic who knows the cucv is rare in my experiences. Does anyone know a good cucv mechanic in the nashville area. Or anywhere else around the country.

Did not do the work myself. It is the first time it was filled since the replacement went in. I dont believe the sending unit was replaced, seal ring either. Its down to a half tank now, and still appears to be leaking. Going through detroit in a 1009, at 70mph, is a rough ride. It drove fine...
Its coming from around the tank. I cant see exactly where, it pools up in the skid plate. The puddles vary depending on the angle when parked. Brand new tank, less than 2 months old. Had it leak tested before the swap.
Originally i had a small fuel leak fixed. Its an 85 from michigan so naturally the tank was pure rust. Now, one month later on a trip to tennessee i noticed, while filling up, the same small leak. After paying i returned to find a puddle of diesel under my 09. Is it possible to overfill an 09...
Ok. The problem is not in the ignition. No power to the relay when the key is off, 12v when its on. The problem isn't the relay, can hear it click when the starter is out. The wires on the starter were not crossed, or touching. Taped up the ends to make sure that didn't happen. Maybe...
