    Need Parts for M416

Great writeup. He was my main resource in getting this started. great guy. Even sent me specific photos on the brake cable assy. Unfortunately having it custom made is cost prohibitive and none of the parts dealers seem to have any. So... If anyone has an M416A1 e-barke cable assy laying...

Thanks. The sale says for local pickup only but I offered $20 for the handbrake assy and the shield mounts to ship.

    Need Parts for M416

This is so frustrating. Almost done with the rebuild and I can't find the e-brake parts I need to button my rebuild. Can you assist? 1) E-Brake hand lever assy. - Someone overtightened the hand-lever adjustment knob, fused the adjuster and cut off the protruding threads. The top cap is...

Can you lock out the surge brake on a M416A1? What's this hole?

Your local tractor store may have a pin that you can use as well. They often have a quick release mechanism of some sort on it.

    M416-A1 rebuild in progress!!!

New can be functional used replacement too. I have seen axles on Craigs List going for $50. Doubt you can get one re-milled for that price. Sorry for not being more specific. Remilling was my first thought but then cost of transportation and the milling itself seemed a little high.

    M416-A1 rebuild in progress!!!

That is pretty messed up. From what I can tell, you are looking at a new axle. The spindle needs to be somewhat intact to properly hold the inner bearing race. Please be careful and don't take shortcuts with this.

    M416-A1 rebuild in progress!!!

    1) Clean off the axle with a good degreaser and remove all the rust from the spindle. 2) Take and post pics. -B-

    M416-A1 rebuild in progress!!!

The manual only has info on the M416 cable. The A1 info is missing. Even in the back there are 2 listings for the M416 with and without the shielding but none for the M416A1. I have been searching the net for 2 weeks trying to find a replacement cable but had resolved to having one...

    M416-A1 rebuild in progress!!!

2ndchance, Do you have any pics of the e-brake cable assembly / assembly run? I need to replace a hacked M416A1 e-brake cable setup so it actually works. The hand lever and parts going to the trailer underside seem unmolested, I just need info on the cable that goes between the wheels...
