    Broken Deuce Toolbox Latch

During some off roading a branch snagged the lower rear corner of my toolbox door and put a kink in it. The kink in turn put pressure on the toolbox door latch and jammed it so I couldn't open the toolbox. My clumsy fiddling with the latch in an attempt to open the toolbox resulted in the latch...

Haul M66 Ring Mount & Deuce Ring Mount Cab Reinforcement from NW MI to GA Rally?

Hi, does anyone from the NW Michigan area going to the Georgia Rally have enough room to haul a M66 Ring Mount & Duece Ring Mount Cab Reinforcement? The ring mount is about 42" in diameter & weighs 346 lbs; the reinforcement is basically a piece of flat heavy gauge steel approx 24" x 60" with a...

    Cab/cargo cover

Plain hemp rope is available at most any hardware or building supply store. For black rope you'd probably have to go to a military supplier.

    Cab/cargo cover

IIRC, black rope about 3/8" but I'm not positive of the size. Def not elastic cords though!

how to turn up fuel...in pictures?

C turbos do not seem to give as much boost as a D. From what I have read, most people report 10-12 psi max with a C versus 12-14 with a D. Mine only puts out about 10 psi & 1200F temp, although some C owners report higher boost. A max pyro of 1200F on a long uphill climb seems to be the...

Selectable hubs and t case sync

Of course the LDS has a boatload more power than a LDT.

Selectable hubs and t case sync

Good practice for when you really NEED to split shift, i.e. hauling a heavy load, plus it's just a hoot to do!

Selectable hubs and t case sync

Agreed, I split shift all the time in my Deuce with the front axle disengaged, not a problem.

    differential fill plugs glued shut

Prolly some old-timey thread sealer. I remember some stuff from back in the day that was a dark brown, gooey, varnishey looking stuff that would clump up right where the plug meets the diff case and dry out hard as a rock. Heat and beat as suggested. Sometimes trying to tighten first then loosen...

    Cab/cargo cover

I was in the MA ARNG from 1969 to 1976 or so. We actually still had M135s and M211s in service when I joined. Soon thereafter we upgraded to M35s. All of our trucks were plain old single color OD green with 3 piece OD canvas cargo covers. All the lettering on the trucks was in about 3" high...

The Swede need engine oil advice!

As stated, using synthetic oil in place of a petroleum based oil should not be a problem. Many of us here stateside use Shell Rotella or Delo 15w-40 oil in our Deuces. The Lube Orders might still specify 10w for winter and 30w for summer use but they are pretty outdated so modern multi-viscosity...

Cost of M35A2 465 Diesel motor oil and filter change??

IIRC, the LO used to say 10 wt in winter and 30 wt in summer. Back in the day, that was probably correct. But oils have changed a lot since the LO was written, pretty much everyone uses 15w-40 nowadays. Just make sure the package says for diesel service!
