The best lockout hubs for a Deuce

A friend and I both have locking hubs on our deuces. One is a sprag transfer case and one is air. We have had these for three years now and are totally sold on them. They happen to be AVMs. Makes no sense to me to have all those gears and shafts turning if you aren't using them. We work them...

Wheel Lug Nuts & Studs and Anti-Seize

I worked as a mechanic for a nationally known truck leasing company for several years and we always anti-seized the lugs, company policy.

Need help with possible purchasse. m211

I had a 1954 M211 and dumped a lot of money in it. It was a nice truck but I couldn't sell it. Not even for cheap. Brakes and transmission were always a problem as well as keeping it running reliably. We scrapped it about 6 months ago after a lot of soul searching... Thought about putting a 440...

    Thinking about getting an M35A3

Been running an A2 and an A3 side by side on a daily basis for a couple years and A3 is easier in town but A2 is faster at the top. Depends on the truck. I love the A2 more though.

    Inner rear axle seal

One other thing. I read on here one time that leaving the fluid level about 1/2 to 3/4 inch down from the level hole helps prevent oil from washing the outer bearing out. We tried that and now run all our trucks that way. Use the silicone, cork, plus fresh seals, good grease and don't fill it to...

    Your Advice Please

All have pros and cons. We haven't messed with the five tons due to the CDL requirement. That said we have used bot the A2 and A3 deuces to haul scrap for the last two years and working them every day shows their weaknesses. Aside from regular maintenance all I have had to work on with the...

    Leaky CTIS on M35A3

We had a similar problem and found the epoxied part broken and coming apart on one rear axle. Tires would randomly air up and down or go flat. Fix for us was to remove all that garbage, converted the axles back to A2 bearings and capped the tire valves off. Worked fine and still working fine a...

Shop that rebuilds mulitifuel injector pump

Central Motive Power here in Albuquerque rebuilt three for me. One was $450 and the most expensive was about $1100. Incidently they did tell me that running garbage fuel through them cuts their life expectancy considerably. Not starting a discussion on fuels - that's just what they told me. I...

    What's your Deuces' name?

One of my deuces is named Connie. I didn't name it. A friend of mine gives all his deuces girls names and he started calling mine Connie. Unfortunately he referred to my truck in a conversation with my wife and I had some heavy explaining to do as that also happens to be my ex girlfriends name...

What about parts for the Deuce?

If you have the room - buy a parts truck. I bought one because I found one cheap figuring I wouldn't have much use for it and I find myself picking off it all the time. Sometimes it's for me and sometimes for friends in need (lots of my buds have deuces).

    GL recovery. Your experiences plz

Might watch publicsurplus.com too. I see them selling off a lot of deuces in batches up there in Iowa. Most are fire department trucks and some are still camo. Some run and some are just good for parts. I look at the Iowa trucks because my mom lives out side Omaha and I always figured I could...

Part prices: Winch, hard top, heater

I mounted my heater under the passenger seat and installed a switch to vary the motor speed. Works fine.

HOW MANY DUECES HAVE CENTER MOUNTED TROOP SEATS???

A friend of mine has the center mounted troop seats in his deuce out here in New Mexico. He said it came with them. I think he said the truck came from Ft. Sill.

question about 9.00-20 deuce tires on rims

Hey fearls92 I might be willing to come after them all for that price. Are they decent?
