Been a long time. Reinstalling head on Dads M1028, what size tap do I need for the bolt holes to run through it?

On other 6.2/6.5 forums people have used one of the old headbolts with slots cut into them to clean the threads. Don't forget to add sealant to the studs. Some go into wet holes.

    CUCV Serpentine Conversion

Yes we converted to 12V. However, I have experimented with dual alternators. Designed the bracket and had it laser cut. I think I posted the file somewhere on here. If you want it I can e-mail the file. Some Googling will get you multiple examples of modified throttle cable brackets. Most do...

    CUCV Serpentine Conversion

Oops, I screwed up. Don't mind the dual post.

    CUCV Serpentine Conversion

Nice setup. Why is the vacuum pump still there? Is it because of the center mount turbo? If possible I would convert the waste-gate actuator to a mechanical one and get rid of the vacuum pump. Most of the 6.5 TD guys get rid of it because the pump is a known point of failure. They say a 1 inch...

    Dark Seas M1008 Project

Doesn't that go to the brake pressure switch on the proportioning valve?

    M1031 to RV tug..

M7? Odd choise? Very uncommon. Why not M6 or M8?

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

Would this work the other way around? Would look awesome to have a MG42 mounted there :ROFLMAO: Although a M1919 would be more appropriate. I love the look of a MG42, almost bought a de-activated one a while ago, but the price held me back... Wonder how cops would react to (de-activated) M16s...

Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

I'm facing the same dilemma. All rivets and bolts on the frame have been replaced with 8.8 zinc plated bolts. Do I scuff them up and paint them or not? I don't want anything to shine... Then again, the frame isn't very visible when looking at the truck once it is done... In the future I will...

    Good Article on the Optimizer

I don't like bringing up an old thread, but I have to ask. Hope you are still reading these forums. Did you get the date code information? There is not a lot of information about blocks cast by Dalton to be found and I just won one at an auction. I'd like to know more about it.

    M1009 Blazer 31 Gallon Tank

How about this tank? I put one in my M1028 chassis. I can't remember how well the skid plate fit around it. I believe it did fit, but it wasn't easy to get it back in there. If I remember I will test fit it again tomorrow. Might need some minor modifications. Maybe some spacers.

Where Do These Wires Go/What are They For??

I think that plug is from the diagnostic circuit. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/cucv-wiring-diagram-color-except-m1010.75505/ The last diagram, plug on the left.

Wow, nice lights! And Philips too. Any pictures of them installed?

Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

Richard told me these don't go through the sorting machine. They go past it manually.

    Niek's M1008

A turbo set should not be hard to find. You might want to go for a Holset HX35 or HX40 while you're at it. Yes, stock relays are known to get stuck. We've had it happen on this truck. Though some say a well maintained stock system should not pose any issues.

    M1031 to RV tug..

Following this (on here and on Diesel Place). I've had a similar idea in my head ever since I had spacers cut for my friend's manifold.
