    M1009 a/c

I was thinking about just grabbing a new unit from LMC truck, since it seems like the heater core and Evaporator are in the same housing. Anyone do that?

Can you give me install pics? A brief search failed me. Also difficulty of install?

    M1009 a/c

Sorry for the late reply. The new job has me busy and I haven't been getting email notifications of posts. So far the only underhood components are the 2 rubber hoses (capped off by garbage bag and electrical tape), the accumulator, and maybe the coils behind the radiator. The previous owner...

Will the stock alternators charge 4 batteries?

I don't see why the alts wouldn't be able to charge your batteries. They'll probably charge slower than normal, but you most likely wouldn't even notice unless you're only running the engine for short periods of time. Just make sure you wire the 12v to the 12v batteries and the 24v to the 24v...

    M1009 a/c

Hey guys, I know A/C has in the M1009 has been covered a lot here, but I need help identifying what is in mine. The previous owner put it in and I've never seen anything like it in the pictures of nostalgia air and od iron kits. I'm hoping someone has experience with this. This unit seems to...

1985 M1009 Starter going out, Atlanta area

Apparently, the Advance Auto up the street from me used to be able to test 24v starters just a few months ago, talk about irony.

1985 M1009 Starter going out, Atlanta area

Called an Autozone, they referred me to an electric motor shop, who referred me to a construction equipment shop. Last place just didn't have the equipment to test it. I'm going to try again tomorrow with a larger radius. I'd hook up a 24v power supply and run it, but I have no idea what I'm...

1985 M1009 Starter going out, Atlanta area

Well, just called half the auto and electric shops in my town, noone has the equipment to check this starter, but 12v does turn it, albeit slowly.

1985 M1009 Starter going out, Atlanta area

I've got my old 24v starter just sitting around. It was on a 12v converted m1009, so I don't know if it's good or not (12v turned it way too slow to start). I've been meaning to have it checked out by a place, I'll let you guys know if you're still looking.

    12v conversion alternator not charging

This is my first diesel, so it's still new and amazing to me how versatile and rugged it is compared to a gasoline engine. I'm aware that it has no spark plugs, and that the only electricity it needs is for the injector pump. I wish I had gone diesel sooner.

    Up to date military radio

I know the radio traffic at my guard base has no special forms of encryption. My fiance can pick it up on a civilian scanner at her house, but it's all just minor base security and aircraft maintenance. We all just use some higher end civilian radios.

    12v conversion alternator not charging

I gotta stop posting at 0100. Thanks for the link Warthog dstang97, I can't speak for k20, but I bought my m1009 half-way through a half-assed 12v conversion. The guy before me got rid of the driver side alt and bracket, the slave receptacle, the wiring was just cut instead of redone. Since I...
