Well, it's a learning process....I'll post here what I've learned so someone searching this at some future point will have a easier time of it:
The M416 trailer brake drum is part number FMC8372 and appears to be the same as the M151...however, the M416A1 (what I now know I have) uses a brake...
Sorry, I'll have to ask you to forgive the new guy. I did 'RESEARCH' here as much as knew how to and did find tnjmurray.com but was not able to find the part on their website. I thank you for the other two options, however. I'll try not to bother you further....
Well, my earlier post got deleted - sorry Mods - didn't mean to cause problems. So, new question..... anybody know if the brake drum on a late 70's M416 trailer is the same as on an M151. I'm told it may be and, if so, it would make my search for a replacement much easier.
Update for future searches: jks587 (thank you) was kind enough to pm me with all the information I needed. These nylon bushings can be found at www.crofttrailer.com as part #1745.
Need some help from the experts! I'm trying to revive my m416 surge brakes and found the replacement master cylinder I needed but in trying to free up the mechinism I discovered several worn bushings in the pivot assembly. No luck finding these odd size bushings locally. Anybody have a source...

Towing it with my Dodge Cummins would not be my idea of "fun" but I have done far worse (1,000 mile tandem tow for example). In fact. my 5th wheel weighs in at just about 13,000 and I've pulled it all over. Also, I do some rock crawling and my last set-up was a gooseneck trailer(5,600#) with a...
Love the site and can't stop reading and learning! Thanks!
OK -now- stupid Newb question here. I'm thinking about bidding on one of the Deuces from Hooks but most say running condition unknown. I've got a one ton Dodge I could make the 2.5 hour pull with if I HAD TO but I would feel much...
Thanks for responding. If I get no joy from this one I have on the way I'll give you guys another shout.
In the meantime, I am enjoying the heck outa this site and can't stop reading. I'm starting to see a Duce in my future....
I'm new to this forum and a first time poster. Lots of great information here to keep me reading for days... I guess I haven't figured out how to navigate the forum too well yet as I need to find a starter for my new (old) M1008. Bought at auction without one and was able to borrow one to make...
