What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

That barn there does not have enough overhead clearance, or strength for the task. But that is where all my tools are at. BUT, I did use another one for the lifting/setting of the top via some CHEAP rachet straps..... Just more humid while IN the barn.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Finally got a slantback setup and started the process of installing/removing/installing it to get everything setup. I obviously have a lot of work left to do, but I got the back on, and the roof sitting in place so I can fit the A piller brackets to mount the roof and turret supports. Doing all...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Picked up my new to me slantback with turret! As you can tell, it BARELY fits in the back of the pickup version of my M1123. The roof is upside down with the full back on top.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Depends on what you consider stuck. Either way, pretty far. But if you don't mind some effort (think using a shovel, tires chains, winch, etc.) you can go pretty darn far. I normally like to limit myself to the shovel. And not to plan on using it, but to have it to get you out. Snow, typically...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

I agree with what @Mullaney said in his post. My comment on lockers is pretty specific it certain situations. The diff setups in the hmmwvs works VERY well about 90% of the time. But if you HAVE to apply the brakes while trying to keep traction, you are limiting yourself in some situations...

    PNW Info Thread!

I know Peter will be doing the first part at his museum on Saturday the 2nd. Then the Parade and cruise on the 4th. I think he only posted on the facebook group though.

Cheap EBAY Mirrors for your humvee REVIEW..

They are cheap for a reason. I got mine from Coug. (Thanks again!) Used them for a while to have something for mirrors while I was getting my tops and doors, etc. on my two trucks. As soon as I could, I got real ones though. Much better made, worth the cost.

    Checking fitment of the M4

While it looks cool, I would hate to try and get in and out of the vehicle with it there. Setup for display, fine. I NEVER carried mine there when I was in.

No tools required radio shelf removal

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the idea that someone could easily walk away with my radio tray and anything attached to it. Now, I did slot the upper holes so that I can tilt the tray back fairly easily.

2022 Pacific NorthWest Rally / FE!

Bringing this back to the top for someone to find easier. I started mowing the grass early, so if the weather holds, we might have better field conditions this year.

MTV from Oregon to Spokane Wa

Ah, that is why patracy was on the message. To update, I sold the lowboy, so I don't have a trailer to haul something like this for now.

    Just curious

Looks like a nice spot to put a camera that is protected but in a good spot to see your blindspot!

2022 Pacific NorthWest Rally / FE!

Late notice due to personal issues/changes. It's time to start planning for this year's rally in the PNW! This is year 13 for our 14th Rally. The third weekend in July will be our next gathering. Everyone is welcome from Thursday July 14th to Monday July 18th. Anyone wanting a longer vacation...

    Hard Door Recommendation

I agree on the strength of full layers. But I do like the X look as well.

    Hard Door Recommendation

I think these doors are the only ones that I like MORE than oem doors! Really like the idea of 1/2" thick doors! I will wait until they finish their new fully built doors to see how they seal their windows. Those might be the ticket for me. Not sure if I like the smooth or X door more though.

    New manual start box install

I use a keyed battery cut off. Works great, and keeps the batteries in better condition. I don't mind the idea of a keyed ignition, but I would only find a high quality setup, no cheap chinesium parts.

    New manual start box install

Am I correct in thinking that you could SAFELY run a keyed ignition switch with this new box design? I don't see where a keyed ignition would cause any harm now that all the electronic gadgetry has been removed.

Runflat removal and install - some good and bad

Yeah, getting the actual tire lube works much better. And can be used in it's 'Snot' form, or watered down to brush on. I like this stuff for many reasons. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AZA9QWS

Runflat removal and install - some good and bad

Not sure which tire. I need to jack up one tire at a time and see which one 'looks' different. I imagine that because it is at a lower speed, that I should be able to see the wobble or out of round tire. If not, well, I guess I could get them all balanced. The worst one is the bad one. I think...
