    Aluminum Champion vs OEM Radiator

Which provides better cooling? If one provides better cooling, that is also a cost to factor in.

    which tire you would prefer

I have 37" K02s on my Jeep and love them! They are actually VERY good in bad weather. I air them down to about 8psi and with full lockers front/rear, the Jeep just flat out GOES in snow! Even the really deep stuff. I would honestly love to have a pair of these for my M1123. I would keep two sets...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Those were what I was eating in that little diner out near La Grange! That size, and SUPER good!

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Oh Man, that is a hard pill to swallow, no chicken fried steak in TX? I lived in TX for about 12 years, and I really miss the food that I got in many different parts. I really miss the hole in the wall places. I know it's gross, but while in the Army, my statement was 'if they don't have...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

I have tire chains, and even took them with me. But, like I said, I had no intention of pushing that hard on this day. This has always be a fun day in the snow. Otherwise I would have aired down and kept going. Chains were there to get OUT of something stupid, not into it ;)

I sure do miss TX BBQ.... I remember the Salt Lick before it got too commercialized... Not sure if that place is still open?

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Oh, and I will also say that the MT tires on her M1123 were also a limiting factor compared to my Baja tires. And to be fair, I did NOT air them down. I had no intention of pushing that far with these vehicles on this trip.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Yup, sure am. And used it plenty on this trip. Still, running brakes at the same time as throttle still takes away power and 'subtle' throttle control. And no matter what, it will never be 100% locked 100% of the time like a good selectable locker is. Lot less strain on the drivetrain if you can...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Another Christmas, another trip to go wheeling in the snow. Usually take the Jeeps and go WAY back into the middle of nowhere. Hmmwvs don't make it as far :( Imagine if they had REAL lockers they would do a lot better.

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

Honestly, my M1123's gearing, motor, transmission combo works great! I don't have the turbo, and like I said, wind gusts when pushing the higher speeds can be felt. But it really doesn't bother me. I tend to drive in the 65 mph range more, and the engine sounds and feels nice in this range. Has...

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

Above 80 mph, power really IS needed because of the wind resistance. Above 70 mph it is noticable.

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

Basic engine design for these motors means they have a more limited amount of boost because the heads tend to 'lift', then you get the blown head gaskets. How much difference with ARP head bolts, etc. not sure. I know you can make more power, but at a fairly high price. If you want to push those...

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

Fastest for gear ratios, yes. But needs the overdrive transmission to take advantage of that gearing. BTW, for cost, I meant to just get take out differentials, ie,. surplus. But if you have an ECV up truck, then your diffs/brakes are better. Finding 2.56 ring and pinion sets will not be easy...

Sorry, I have always used those interchangeably. Still not right though...

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

Yes, Dana 20 differentials, just like in the Jeeps. And yes, doing a ring and pinion swap, properly setup, is the way to change to a number of different gears. Thing is, getting the low numeric gear ratios are not common. Most offerings are 3.54 or up. Easiest answer is to swap the differential...

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

They are only 4 speeds, you are feeling the torque converter locking up to make it feel like another gear. Transmissions 3rd gear is 1:1, 4th gear is .75:1 So .75 to 1 is the overdrive gear in the 4 speed transmissions (4L80E) in the A2 and up trucks.

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

Yes, putting a turbo 6.5 with 4speed in a A0-A1 truck would have the highest top speed. Or just swapping the A0-A1 diffs into a turbo truck, same difference, gearing wise.

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

He could have, but I doubt it. And to put all the numbers for gearing. For the differentials themselves. A0-A1 have 2:56 A2’s have 2:73 (4 spd, 65. NA) ECV on up, 3:08 (4 spd, 65. Turbo) Geared Portal hubs are 1.92:1 Transmissions 3rd gear is 1:1, 4th gear is .75:1 Final drive "axle"...

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

Exactly. The 3speed setups, the A0, have the best diff gears, but lack the overdrive in the transmission. If you wanted the fastest top speed, swap the A0 gears/diffs into a ECV/REV turbo truck.

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

The 6.5 NA motor has the best gearing for higher speeds. Turbo motor is more gear limited for top speed. Like I said, no problems cruising between 80 to 85 mph. Btw, I normally cruise at 65 to 70 mph on the freeway in both M1123s with no issue.
